How we build our domes

Here at GeoDomes Australia we use only a few materials to build our domes. The timber is treated, structural pine that we source locally here in the Ballarat area. The cover for the dome is a high grade Greenhouse Plastic 200UM (2mm thick) with a  UV barrier to last those harsh Australian summers. The building process requires over  100 triangles that then come together to make pentagons and hexagons as you will see in the photos below. The way we cover the done is by wrapping the triangle so that when we install the dome it creates a very tight and neat finish.

The credit for the design goes to Paul Robinson from the U.K. and you can find more of his incredible geodesic work over on his website at www.geo-dome.co.uk
