1. Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our products and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If there is a problem with a product or service, the available remedy will depend on the nature of the issue, whether the issue is major or minor, and the cause of the issue.
We reserve the right to assess any reported issue before confirming the cause or providing a remedy.
2. Product Descriptions
We aim to describe all dome products, covers, frames, flooring systems, raised garden beds and installation options as clearly and accurately as possible.
Product images, examples, drawings and descriptions are provided as a guide only. Some details may vary depending on dome size, selected options, site conditions, product availability, installation method, material supply and final quote.
Any inclusions, exclusions, upgrades, delivery costs, installation costs, GST and site-specific requirements will be confirmed in your quote or invoice
.
3. Quotes, Pricing & Payment
Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote. If no period is stated, quotes are valid for 14 days.
Prices may vary depending on material costs, freight, delivery location, access, site conditions, custom requirements and selected options.
A deposit may be required to secure your order, begin production, order materials or book installation. Deposits may be non-refundable once materials have been ordered, production has started, or installation time has been reserved.
Final payment must be made according to the payment terms stated on your quote or invoice.
Ownership of supplied goods remains with Geodesic Domes Australia until payment has been received in full.
4. Delivery, Collection & Freight
Delivery and freight are quoted separately unless clearly included in writing.
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by weather, material availability, courier delays, freight availability, production delays, site access or events outside our control.
Collection may be available for some products by prior arrangement.
The customer is responsible for checking that all delivered items are present and notifying us as soon as reasonably possible if anything appears missing or damaged.
5. Self-Build & Flat-Pack Dome Kits
Some dome products are supplied as flat-pack self-build kits. These kits are designed to be assembled by the customer using the supplied instructions and appropriate tools.
For self-build kits, the customer is responsible for:
-
Reading and following the supplied instructions
-
Preparing a suitable raised, level base or foundation
-
Checking all parts before assembly
-
Building the dome correctly
-
Ensuring the dome is installed level, secure and safe
-
Ensuring the cover, bungees, door, flaps, vents, eyelets and openings are fitted correctly
-
Maintaining the dome after installation
-
Complying with any local planning, building, council, safety or site requirements
If a dome is not installed according to the supplied instructions, product information, quote requirements, or written guidance provided by us, this may affect the performance of the dome and may affect whether a reported issue is considered a product fault.
6. Installation by Geodesic Domes Australia
Installation may be available depending on product type, location, access, quote and scheduling.
Some products, including certain Timber Studio Domes, flooring systems and raised garden beds, are available only with installation by Geodesic Domes Australia and only within driving distance of our workshop.
Installation is included only where this is clearly stated in your final quote or invoice.
Unless specifically included in writing, installation does not include site preparation, excavation, crushed rock base preparation, drainage work, council approvals, permits, electrical work, plumbing work, landscaping, soil, planting, or other works outside the stated installation scope.
7. Site Preparation
The customer is responsible for ensuring the site is ready before delivery or installation unless site preparation is specifically included in writing.
The site must be:
-
Safe and accessible
-
Clear of obstructions
-
Suitable for the selected dome size
-
Prepared according to the product requirements
-
Level and stable
-
Able to drain water away from the dome
-
Ready for delivery, unloading and installation
If the site is not ready, unsafe, inaccessible, unstable, uneven or unsuitable, installation may be delayed, cancelled or rescheduled. Additional costs may apply.
8. Raised, Level Base Requirement
All studio domes and accommodation-style domes must be installed and secured on a raised, level floor or base.
The dome must not be installed directly onto soil, gravel, crushed rock, grass, mud, sand, uneven ground, poorly draining ground, or any unstable surface.
A raised, level base is required to:
-
Support the structure correctly
-
Keep the timber frame clear of ground moisture
-
Reduce moisture build-up around the lower timber sections
-
Allow rainwater to shed as intended
-
Help prevent water from being redirected toward the entrance, lower seams, eyelets or timber frame
-
Reduce the risk of timber movement, mould, rot, condensation issues and water tracking
If a dome is installed directly onto the ground, or onto an unlevel or unsuitable base, water movement, condensation, splash-back, ground moisture, cover tension and door alignment may be affected.
Issues caused by an unsuitable, unlevel or non-raised base are not considered faults with the dome kit, cover or installation unless Geodesic Domes Australia supplied and installed that base as part of the agreed scope.
9. Greenhouse Dome Base Requirements
Greenhouse domes must be installed and secured on a stable, level and well-draining surface.
The base area must be properly prepared before installation so the greenhouse is supported correctly and water can drain away from the dome.
Greenhouse domes should not be installed directly onto uneven, unstable or poorly draining ground without suitable preparation.
The customer is responsible for site drainage, ground preparation, soil conditions, internal garden layout, irrigation, planting, and ongoing growing conditions unless specifically included in writing.
10. Dome Flooring Systems
Our dome flooring systems are custom-built to suit our Timber Studio Domes and are available only within driving distance of our workshop.
The flooring system must be installed by Geodesic Domes Australia unless otherwise agreed in writing.
A level, prepared crushed rock base is required before installation. The site must be ready and accessible before we arrive.
Our flooring systems are not available for shipping as flat-pack products. For interstate or remote customers, we may offer DIY floor plans or consultation, but the customer remains responsible for the final build, site conditions, materials, workmanship and compliance.
11. Raised Garden Beds
Our wrap-around raised garden beds are custom-built to suit greenhouse dome sizes and are available only within driving distance of our workshop.
Raised garden beds must be installed by Geodesic Domes Australia unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Soil, plants, irrigation, drainage, growing conditions and ongoing maintenance are not included unless specifically stated in your quote.
For interstate or remote customers, we may offer DIY plans or consultation, but the customer remains responsible for the final build, site conditions, materials, workmanship and compliance.
12. Covers, Waterproofing & Weather Performance
Our PVC studio dome covers and greenhouse covers are designed for outdoor use when installed correctly and used with a suitable base, correct cover tension, correct door/flap positioning, correct bungee placement and appropriate site drainage.
Waterproof or weather-resistant performance depends on correct installation, correct base level, correct cover tension, correct door and flap alignment, suitable drainage, maintenance and the absence of damage, modification or incorrect materials.
The customer must not add tape, adhesives, sealants, fasteners, holes, fixings, cuts, weights, straps, pressure points or other materials to the cover unless instructed by Geodesic Domes Australia in writing.
Added materials may change the way water sheds from the cover and may redirect water toward seams, eyelets, velcro, doors, windows, lower sections or timber frame areas.
Any water ingress, condensation, water tracking or damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable base, unlevel floor, poor drainage, added materials, physical damage, misuse, modification, lack of maintenance, storm damage or external site conditions is not considered a product fault unless confirmed after assessment.
13. Doors, Flaps, Eyelets, Vents & Openings
Doors, flaps, vents, velcro, windows, eyelets, bungees and other openings must be installed, aligned, tensioned and maintained correctly.
Water can be redirected by:
-
An unlevel base or doorway
-
Uneven cover tension
-
Incorrect bungee tension
-
Bungee balls or knots pressing against the cover
-
Folds or creases in the cover
-
Added tape, sealant or adhesive
-
Door or flap misalignment
-
Poor drainage or splash-back
-
Wind-driven rain
-
Physical damage or holes
-
Lack of maintenance
If water ingress is reported, the customer may be required to provide photos, videos, level checks, site photos and other information so the water path and cause can be assessed.
14. Condensation, Moisture & Ventilation
Domes are outdoor structures and may experience condensation, moisture movement or humidity depending on weather, temperature changes, airflow, use, heating, ground moisture, plants, internal moisture sources and ventilation.
Condensation or moisture build-up can occur when warm internal air meets colder external surfaces, or when the dome is installed close to ground moisture.
Customers are responsible for managing ventilation, airflow, moisture, heating, drainage and general internal conditions unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Condensation, ground moisture, splash-back, humidity or moisture caused by site conditions or use is not considered a cover leak or product fault unless confirmed after assessment.
15. Timber
Timber is a natural material. It may show variation in grain, colour, knots, movement, checking, expansion, contraction or minor cosmetic changes over time.
Timber must be kept clear of ongoing ground moisture and maintained appropriately. Direct contact with soil, gravel, crushed rock, grass, mud or poorly draining ground may increase the risk of moisture build-up, mould, rot or timber movement.
The customer is responsible for ongoing timber care and maintenance unless a maintenance service has been specifically included in writing.
16. Maintenance
The customer is responsible for ongoing maintenance of the dome, cover, timber, fixings, bungees, doors, flaps, vents, flooring, garden beds and surrounding site.
Maintenance may include:
-
Checking cover tension
-
Checking bungees, eyelets and fixings
-
Checking door and flap alignment
-
Keeping the base level and stable
-
Keeping drainage clear
-
Ventilating the dome
-
Drying wet areas
-
Removing debris from the cover
-
Checking for damage after storms or high wind
-
Treating or maintaining timber as needed
-
Replacing worn or damaged parts
Failure to maintain the dome may affect performance and may affect whether a reported issue is considered a product fault.
17. Wind, Storms & Extreme Weather
Domes must be properly secured and used responsibly in changing weather conditions.
Customers are responsible for checking local weather conditions and taking reasonable steps to protect the dome during high wind, storms, heavy rain, hail, flooding, extreme heat, falling branches, fire risk or other severe weather events.
Damage caused by severe weather, storm events, flooding, falling branches, fire, misuse, lack of anchoring, unsuitable site conditions or failure to maintain the dome is not considered a product fault unless confirmed after assessment.
18. Planning, Permits & Compliance
The customer is responsible for checking whether council approval, planning permits, building permits, engineering, bushfire requirements, accommodation approvals, insurance requirements or any other approvals are required for their intended use and location.
Geodesic Domes Australia does not provide legal, planning, engineering, building surveying or council approval advice unless specifically stated in writing.
Any information we provide about possible uses of a dome is general only and does not confirm that the dome can legally be used for that purpose on your property.
19. Customer Modifications
Customers must not modify the dome, frame, cover, doors, flaps, windows, vents, eyelets, bungees, flooring or raised garden beds unless agreed by Geodesic Domes Australia in writing.
Modifications may affect strength, weather performance, water shedding, ventilation, safety and warranty assessment.
This includes but is not limited to:
-
Cutting the cover
-
Adding holes
-
Adding tape or adhesives
-
Adding sealants not approved by us
-
Changing door or flap design
-
Changing bungee layout
-
Adding weight or pressure to the cover
-
Changing frame connections
-
Changing anchoring points
-
Installing the dome on an unsuitable base
Issues caused by unauthorised modifications are not considered product faults unless confirmed otherwise after assessment.
20. Reporting Issues
If you believe there is an issue with your dome, cover, frame, flooring system, raised garden bed or installation, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
To assess the issue, we may ask for:
-
Photos of the full dome
-
Photos of the affected area
-
Photos of the base or floor
-
Photos showing whether the structure is level
-
Photos or videos showing the water path or issue occurring
-
Details of weather conditions
-
Details of any changes, repairs, tape, sealants or modifications
-
Details of how the dome has been used and maintained
We will assess the information provided and advise the next steps.
21. Assessment Before Remedy
We reserve the right to assess any reported issue before confirming the cause or offering a remedy.
Assessment may be carried out remotely using photos, videos, calls and written information, especially for interstate or remote customers.
Where reasonably required, an in-person inspection may be arranged. If the issue is confirmed to be a product or installation fault for which Geodesic Domes Australia is responsible, we will work with you on the appropriate remedy.
If the issue is caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable base, unlevel surface, ground moisture, poor drainage, misuse, unauthorised modification, lack of maintenance, storm damage, wear and tear, or circumstances outside our control, the customer may be responsible for inspection, repair, travel, freight, replacement parts or rectification costs.
22. Remedies
If a product or service supplied by Geodesic Domes Australia does not meet a consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law, we will provide the remedy required by law.
Depending on the issue, this may include repair, replacement, refund, re-supply of services, compensation or another remedy required by law.
If a problem is minor and can be repaired within a reasonable time, we may choose to repair the issue.
If a problem is major, the customer may have rights to choose a remedy as provided under the Australian Consumer Law.
23. Consequential Damage
Customers must take reasonable steps to prevent further damage once an issue is noticed. This may include drying wet areas, increasing ventilation, protecting timber, stopping use where necessary, or contacting us promptly.
Geodesic Domes Australia is not responsible for damage caused by the customer’s failure to take reasonable steps to reduce further damage after becoming aware of an issue.
Claims for consequential loss or damage will be assessed based on the cause of the issue, the installation conditions, the customer’s actions, maintenance, modifications, site conditions and any applicable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
24. Plans & Consultations
Where we provide DIY plans, guidance, consultation or general advice, this does not make us responsible for the customer’s final build unless specifically agreed in writing.
The customer remains responsible for:
-
Site preparation
-
Material selection
-
Measurements

-
Structural suitability
-

For interstate or remote customers, products may be supplied as self-build kits unless installation is specifically included in writing.
Remote support may be provided by phone, email, video call, photos or written guidance. In-person attendance may not be practical or included unless specifically quoted and agreed.
The customer is responsible for ensuring they have the ability, tools, site preparation, labour and local support required to complete the build safely and correctly.
26. Access & Safety During Installation
Where Geodesic Domes Australia provides installation, the customer must provide safe and suitable site access.
The site must be clear, accessible and ready for installation. Pets, children and unauthorised people must be kept away from the work area during installation.
If the site is unsafe, inaccessible, not ready or unsuitable, installation may be delayed or rescheduled and additional costs may apply.
27. Changes, Delays & Cancellations
Project timeframes may be affected by weather, material availability, freight, site readiness, access, illness, emergencies or other events outside our control.
If the customer delays, changes or cancels an order after materials have been ordered, production has started, or installation has been booked, additional costs may apply.
Custom-made products may not be refundable for change of mind once production has started, subject to any rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
28. Communication
Important project details, inclusions, exclusions, site requirements and changes should be confirmed in writing.
The customer is responsible for reading the quote, invoice, product information, installation requirements and any instructions provided before proceeding.
