Timber
Our Studio Dome frames are made from MPG10 structural pine. All the timber is dressed at our workshop to remove prints or labelling and to give a clean and smooth finish.
The Cover
Our new high grade PVC covers are completely waterproof, mould resistant and custom made to fit the hand crafted frame of your dome.
Each cover comes with:
4 lower window/vents with removable velcro mesh for ventilation and bug proofing,
a large clear window section,
an optional clear pentagon skylight,
a roll up door vinyl door and
a double screen door to aid with airflow and keeping the mozzies out!
Flooring
The Studio Dome frame is sat upon a 190mm treated pine base. This means the dome can be placed directly onto the ground on a levelled, crush rock base, however, we recommend installing a custom floating deck/floor on which to place your dome. At Geodesic Domes Australia, we have designed the perfect floating flooring system to complete your Studio Dome. This can be ordered separately. We can also offer a set of building plans from which you could build the floor yourself.
Installing the Geodome
We fabricate and preassemble all the pieces of the Geodome in our workshop ready for installation.
We group the frames into groups of hexagons, pentagons and a few other transportable pieces. This allows us to install your new dome in just one day. Once the frame is complete, we then fit the cover and secure it to the dome.

Delivery Costs
The cost for delivery can vary depending on your location. We are located near Ballarat Victoria and may have to hire either a transit van or truck depending on the size of your dome. The delivery costs cover the van hire, mileage, insurance and fuel. You can find out more information on the total costs by reaching out and asking for a quote.
Installation & Build Time
Our domes are delivery and installed by our team of experts to ensure the installation is completed safely and to the highest of standards.
All domes are made to order. This takes around 3 weeks to complete. During busier times we will arrange a start date for your build and keep you informed during the process.
